Sonoma County's Premier Artisan Tamales since 1974. Always made with whole grain corn; never industrialized, packaged Masa harina.
From the Núñez Family Tradition of Tamales, nixtamalizing their own corn for Sonoma County and beyond since 1974. Longtime locals may remember the original restaurant; Núñez Tamale Factory in Windsor, CA that featured handmade tamales from scratch. The old world artisan tradition of cooking and grinding the corn has not ended in this family, which is a true rarity these days. Recipes have been verbally passed down 5 traceable generations.
The "Tamale Lady" (Mary Núñez), is 94 and still follows her passion for making Tamales for friends and family today. Mary and her Grandchildren have added a few twists and stepped up their tamale game with organic Non-GMO corn, pasture raised meat, and gluten free options. Mary and her family are excited to share the family tradition of love and passion with the community again.
