Cooperative Conference in Santa Rosa
The California Center for Cooperative Development's 2nd Annual Conference will be held April 9-10th at the Glaser Center in Santa Rosa. This year’s conference focuses on job creation and building community-based economies to strengthen communities, create wealth, and transform lives. Several Sonoma County companies and GoLocal members will be featured like our very own Alvarado Street Bakery and Community First Credit Union.
The keynote speaker is Jim Anderson from the Ohio Employee Ownership Center. Jim will share information about Evergreen Cooperative---an innovative project that links private businesses with cooperatively owned enterprises. To see a short video clip click here. The conference will include panels and workshops about California-based projects that effectively use the cooperative model to create jobs, housing, community food systems, and local-based services that build community wealth. Workshops will also provide information on how to start and sustain healthy cooperative businesses.
As our nation undergoes great transitions and economic challenges, it is essential to examine innovative strategies that generate true grassroots change. Cooperatives offer models of responsive, adaptable enterprises that embrace self-help fundamentals for sustainable economic development in California. Join us for this important event.

Check your typo...I'm sure you meant to "create jobs" but you have written that you "crate jobs"...which may be a new trick, but more likely just a typo!
Thanks for the Valentine moment.
How about something to do with Housing Co-ops at your April conference?
Best,
Ann
Thanks for catching the typo. It has been corrected.

Alvarado Street Bakery is a great model for CA cooperatives - even Michael Moore played that up in his film earlier this year. To read more about this company and Michael Moore's film read here:
