GoLocal Screening of 'The Economics of Happiness'

Join GoLocal for a special screening of ‘The Economics of Happiness’, a documentary about the worldwide movement for localization.

Both hard-hitting and inspiring, ‘The Economics of Happiness’ demonstrates that millions of people across the world are already engaged in building a better world – that small scale initiatives are happening on a large scale.

The film shows that countless initiatives are united around a common cause: rebuilding more democratic, human scale, ecological and local economies – the foundation of an ‘economics of happiness’.

The film features a chorus of voices from six continents calling for systemic economic change, including David Korten, Bill McKibben, Vandana Shiva, Rob Hopkins, Richard Heinberg, Juliet Schor, Michael Shuman, Helena Norberg-Hodge, and Samdhong Rinpoche, the Prime Minister of Tibet's government in exile.

Read more about the film in GoLocal's feature story here.

The film will be shown at the end of GoLocal's Second Annual Member Meeting. The Annual Meeting is open to members only, but the film screening at the end of the evening is open to the public.

Film screening is free to GoLocal members. General public: pays what you can; no one turned away--suggested donation is $10.

For information about becoming a GoLocal resident member for a one-time membership fee of $25 and enjoying the entire evening with us, click here.  The meeting will feature keynote speaker Norman Solomon, local author and activist.  See more details about the member meeting here.

Awesome, but that's a very long evening. Will dinner be served?
