Grow Your Own - Vegetables, Herb and Fruit in the Home Garden

Whether you are just starting to grow vegetables, fruit or herbs, or have planted before, this class will provide the information needed to have a successful gardening season. We will cover the basics of organic gardening including site selection, soil fertility, seeds and transplants, planning the garden season and pest and disease strategies.

Designing gardens to use space efficiently so you can enjoy the process as well as the fruits of your labors will be covered too. Take home a planting calendar and resource list for this area.

Instructor Wendy Krupnick has been growing vegetables, fruit, herbs and flowers for over 30 years. She is currently Adjunct Faculty with SRJC’s Sustainable Agriculture Program, teaches Master Gardener vegetable classes, and assists home garden clients. She worked for a seed company for 10 years and has worked on several organic farms and garden projects.
