Nutrigenetics is an exciting and emerging new field that uses individual genetic profiles to personalize dietary and supplementation recommendations. Genetic variations, known as SNPs (single nucleotide polymorphisms), affect how an individual responds to nutrients, supplements, and lifestyle changes. The goal of nutrigenetics is the prevention and treatment of disease, as well as optimizing the health of an individual.
The seminar explores the basics of genetics as well as identifying some major SNPs and how the combination of genetics, blood work, and food journal assessment can be applied to individualize a nutrition program.
ABOUT ALLA MARINOW, B.A. N.C.

As a holistic nutritionist, Alla specializes in diseases ranging from pre-autoimmune conditions, auto-immune diseases, and cancer. In her practice she has found that genetics makes up about 25% of the missing piece of the health puzzle.
