Project Learning Tree Workshop

About

Project Learning Tree (PLT) is an award-winning environmental education program designed for teachers, non-formal educators, parents, and community leaders working with youth from preschool through grade 12. PLT uses the observable as a basis for increasing student understanding and awareness of the environment and actions they can take to conserve it. Sandra Derby (Project Learning Tree Northern California State Coordinator) will discuss PLT projects, educational pedagogy, NGSS, and guide participants through several activities detailed in the K-8 workbook. Deborah Zierten (Save the Redwoods League) will share curricula tailored for high schoolers that can be used at Armstrong Redwoods. Meets: Thursday, June 28, 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM & Friday, June 29, 10:00 AM - 3:00 PM, Stewards' office/Volunteer Center Cost: $32 Stewards members & volunteers, $40 regular (includes 2-day instruction, PLT education materials, lunch & snacks)
