The Leadership Institute for Ecology and the Economy, a Sonoma County non-profit, is holding its third annual Leadership in Sustainability Awards dinner in Windsor, California, on Saturday, November 5th, 2011. As the North Bay’s premier gathering of sustainability leaders and supporters, this inspiring event is critical for providing the encouragement and recognition to those who work tirelessly to create an economically, ecologically and equitably sustainable future for our community.
The purpose of the Leadership in Sustainability Awards is to recognize community leaders who have displayed remarkable achievement or inspiration in our goal of creating a socially, economically and environmentally sustainable community. The dinner will highlight locally grown, organic, and sustainable food; the striking awards will feature renewable materials; and the event will support local, sustainable objectives wherever possible.
2010 Leadership in Sustainability Awards
The last two years have been such a success that all tickets were sold out and Facebook was abuzz the next day with posts from the many elected officials and other prominent community leaders who attended. Due to its exceptional theme, impressive sustainability efforts, and celebratory spirit, the affair draws a powerhouse of attendees and significant publicity each year. We also received many wonderful emails from award recipients, guests and sponsors after the event calling it “incredible,” “spectacular”, “inspiring,” and “a blast”. One person called it “a magical evening that I will long remember!”
