Copperfield's Books Present: The Language of Flowers
VANESSA DIFFENBAUGH appears
Tuesday, August 30, 7pm
Montgomery Village
Aug. 26, 2011
A mesmerizing, moving, and elegantly written debut novel, The Language of Flowers beautifully weaves together the heart-wrenching past and the tentative present of an emancipated foster care youth.
Ms. Diffenbaugh, a foster parent herself, creates a vivid portrait of an unforgettable woman whose gift for flowers helps her change the lives of others even as she struggles to overcome her own troubled past.
When a mysterious vendor at the flower market has Victoria questioning what’s been missing in her life, and when she’s forced to confront a painful secret from her past, she must decide whether it’s worth risking everything for a second chance at happiness.
This event will be a fundraiser for “Voices of Sonoma County” and is sponsored by The Foster Parent Association and Valley of the Moon Children’s Center.
