Crumb Hither Receives High Praise from Locals, and a Grant Opportunity
Sonoma County baker receives high praise from locals and a grant opportunity from Whole Foods Market  and Working Solutions.

Shannon Heacock-Hoffmann is a familiar figure to the folks who frequent the Santa Rosa Original Certified Farmers' Market held at The Luther Burbank Center for the Arts on Saturday mornings. Crumb Hither baked goods are a market favorite and her unique cupcakes sell-out nearly every week.

When Shannon Heacock-Hoffmann was growing up in Sebastopol, one of her favorite places to be was in the kitchen with her Mother and Nana baking with fruit from their small family farm, berries from their neighbors or apples grown just down the road. In a busy family of five children, their home was a gathering place for friends and family. “In our house everything possible was home-made, organic and using local wasn’t fashionable, it was purely practical. We ate what we grew, loved what we made and we shared it with others. Everyone was welcome at our family table” Heacock-Hoffmann’s passion for baking is an extension of her love for Sonoma County’s bounty, and her friends and family who farm inspired by ingredients that are local and readily available.

Encouraged by friends and family, Shannon became a vendor involved with the nonprofit “Santa Rosa Original Certified Farmers' Market” where she now serves on the board. Recently, Crumb Hither has expanded to local retail distribution.

Through the process of baking for her loved ones and serving in her community, Crumb Hither Baked Goods was born. Crumb Hither cupcakes are now available at many of the Whole Foods Markets in Northern California. Crumb Hither is thrilled to be one of the recipients of the Whole Foods Market Local Producer Grants to be administered by Working Solutions, a nonprofit microlender committed to helping Bay Area entrepreneurs realize their dreams of business ownership.

The grants are awarded based on Whole Foods Market’s July 26th 5% Community Giving Day. On Wednesday, July 26th when you shop at any Northern California, or Reno Whole Foods Market location 5% of all of purchases will help to support this local entrepreneur grow her businesses.
