What is your fondest memory of living in Sonoma County?
Since I'm a relative newcomer my memories are still fresh. I'm constantly struck by the beauty of the landscapes in every season, the opportunities to be in nature, the many wonderful hiking trails, and great experiences I've had here.
Describe what you experience as the greatest treasure of Sonoma County.
There is incredible bounty here in Sonoma County---the wonderful foods fresh from local farms, and the delicious cheeses and other food products made here. There are many crafts people, artists and musicians who live and work here. Everything I need is so close!
What for you defines 'quality of life'?
For me the quality of life refers to having basic needs met in a way that I can feel somewhat secure and find enjoyment in life. We need friends and family, good food, a comfortable place to live, creative challenges, intellectual stimulation and a feeling of making a contribution.
What gets you really excited about your business?
I love the opportunity to look through my camera and see the amazing beauty all around me. I doesn't feel like work to me.
Thinking about your business, what keeps you up at night?
I try to think of new ways that organizations that want to make a difference can use visual images to create an impact and get their messages spread more effectively.
If you could have one wish come true for Sonoma County, what would it be?
My wish is that everyone who needs or wants to work could find a job with good working conditions and fair pay, and that there would be no discrimination because of class or ethnicity.
What is your favorite quote or motto?
The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.
What or who do you most admire in Sonoma County?
I admire all the dedicated people in our county who are committed to creating a culturally and environmentally sustainable future on our planet.
What brought you to Sonoma County?
I moved here eight years ago after living in San Francisco for 25 years, to be in a cohousing community in Cotati. It was a big change, but I see it as the best move I could have made. There are wonderful people here and I have made many good new friends.
