What is your fondest memory of living in Sonoma County?
I think having the opportunity to grow up in Sebastopol is something very special. I remember working summers with my cousins, picking, polishing and selling apples at our roadside fruit stand. The smell of Gravenstein apples and freshly disced dirt in the orchards were the best.
Describe what you experience as the greatest treasure of Sonoma County.
The greatest treasure of Sonoma County has to be the incredible wine growing regions. They are all very distinct and are producing wines as good as any in the world - I would say the best wines in the world!
What for you defines 'quality of life'?
Spending time with great friends, good wine and amazing food make my life completely fulfilled.
What gets you really excited about your business?
I like sharing our wines with new people who are amazed that we only make 1700 cases per year. It's the excitement they have when meeting my family that runs the business and creating a lasting memory for our visitors.
Thinking about your business, what keeps you up at night?
My endless list of things to do and inventory!
If you could have one wish come true for Sonoma County, what would it be?
It's difficult to wish for much more for Sonoma County. With the current economy, I would say more funding for schools including art, sports and music programs. Oh and a nice balanced budget wouldn't hurt.
What is your favorite quote or motto?
Saying yes is much easier than saying no.
What or who do you most admire in Sonoma County?
Brent Farris, morning show guy on KZST radio has been such a mentor and friend to me. I am amazed at the amount he gives of himself and his own funds for the Sonoma County community. He is also the wittiest person I have ever met and always gives very sage and honest advice.
What brought you to Sonoma County?
I was born here.
