Sheldon Wines has cut its caboose loose. The Russian River Valley winemaking team of Dylan and Tobe Sheldon is abandoning its tiny tasting room located in an Old Southern Pacific Rail caboose inside the renovated Gravenstein Station of downtown Sebastopol.
By late August, the Sheldons will re-open in what they’re calling an Urban Winery Village at Cleveland and Ridgway avenues in Santa Rosa. The new development is a partnership with Krutz Family Cellars and MJ Lords Wine Cellars, taking over industrial space next to D’Argenzio Winery.
Tucked in a strip mall behind Gilda’s Bridal Touch and Squire Cigars, the property certainly epitomizes urban. Rather than views of vineyards, there is the shadow of the 101 Freeway. All four wineries will produce wine on-site within two large industrial facilities, staging the tasting area in the barrel room. Read more of the article here...
