About
Aikido is the art of conflict resolution through non-violent self defense, sometimes humorously referred to as the "non-martial art."
We focus on defensive awareness and conflict de-escalation paired with martial arts skills based on blending and redirection.
Development of an intuitive understanding of body mechanics and the psychology of safety are core to the practice.
Hitting and kicking are not practiced in Aikido except in learning to defend against all manner of attacks.
And we like to have fun.
PS: We have been listed as Best of the North Bay for Martial Arts for four years: 2008, 2010, 2011, 2013.

Samurai Tag
Added: 5/22/12
At the end of kids classes there is always a game, and the kids pick. This day it was Samurai Tag.
Class At The Beach
Added: 5/22/12
On a hot July day we went to the beach to practice weapons in the cool, ocean mist. Weapons practice is the only practical training to be done on sand. Although there were some seasoned weapons students, we had quite a few newbies. A good time was had by all and we stopped at sunset for refreshments.
