(Virtual) Museum Conversations with Artist Adam Wolpert

July 16, 2020

Join us for a conversation with landscape painter Adam Wolpert and Museum Executive Director and Art Curator Jeff Nathanson. They will be discussing Wolpert's art, his inspiration, and his close relationship to the natural environments he depicts. He will be inviting us (virtually) into his studio space at his home, located at the Occidental Art and Ecology Center, where he will share his works in progress. Wolpert's work is currently featured in the "Landscape: Awe to Activism" exhibition. The work of painter Adam Wolpert reflects a lifelong engagement with nature. His widely varied imagery explores the themes of cycles and relationship to place. Wolpert's work changes with the seasons from plein air landscape painting to studio work. His naturalistic outdoor work speaks of his relationship with the land, in particular his home in West Sonoma County at the Occidental Arts and Ecology Center (OAEC, www.oaec.org), a project that he co-founded over 25 years ago.
