Sonoma County GO LOCAL Co-op is on the hunt for a detail-oriented, organized, self-motivated, team-focused and customer service-minded individual who believes in the “GO LOCAL” spirit and has some familiarity with the geography, culture and business environment of Sonoma County. 

We’re seeking a communications, marketing and administrative go-to person to become a vital part of our small, hard-working and close-knit team. This is a job in which you’ll work in a supportive, creative and forward-thinking environment where your contributions matter as a key team member.

As communications coordinator, you’ll be responsible for fulfilling and tracking our member and media services. You’ll also create social media content, email campaigns and other communications, and track results. No two days are alike, and you’ll learn a lot about the workings of locally owned businesses through our business membership network and a locally-focused media company. Training will be a continual part of the job.

 

SKILL SETS REQUIRED

ORGANIZATION AND ATTENTION TO DETAIL

• Top notch written and verbal communication skills
• Self-directed; ability to work independently and efficiently to prioritize tasks, handling matters effectively and proactively 
• Excellent time management and organizational skills with strong attention to detail
• Juggle multiple priorities while remaining flexible and open to new challenges

TECH-SAVVINESS

• Experience or ability to quickly master business social media, graphics & website updates
• Demonstrate ability to learn new systems quickly and view them as a benefit
• Strong computer ability with proficiency in various platforms: Mac, GoogleSuite, MS Office
• Knowledge in or ability to quickly master Constant Contact, Salesforce, Meta (FB/IG) Business Tools, Trello, Wordpress, DropBox, Animoto, Survey Monkey, etc.

OTHER GO LOCAL TEAM QUALITIES

• Demonstrated passion for and interest in the local business and nonprofit community
• Desire to constantly learn and grow personally and professionally in an evolving community-minded organization
• Strong work ethic and positive attitude; handle situations with good judgment; value integrity
• Ability to analyze problems, evaluate alternatives and develop process improvements

 

JOB FEATURES

MEMBERSHIP & SALES SUPPORT

• Maintain relationships with and provide individualized service to members via daily phone and email communications 
• Work closely with sales & production to fulfill membership and media commitments
• Coordinate sales recruitment & fulfillment process with sales, production and accounting
• Prepare sales & marketing materials; be the key go-to support for sales management

COMMUNICATIONS

• Create & schedule social media content, manage results
• Draft correspondence, proofread & streamline communications
• Organize and maintain electronic files, databases & business websites 
• Organize logistics for business networking meetings and special events
• Communicate strategically with media partners, outside contractors, etc.
