<p><strong>WHAT WE DO</strong><br /> <br /> Thotsys LLC is a technology and service provider specializing in &quot;mobilized&quot; web site add-ons to properly support smartphones such as the iPhone and Android.<br /> <br /> In addition to creating add-ons for existing traditional web sites, we can create a &quot;mobilized&quot; web site from scratch to provide your business with a web-based application that will operate in the same fashion as a dedicated iPhone or Android App, but will work on BOTH devices and others without the need for an App store approval.&nbsp; Think of this as cloud computing for mobile devices.<br /> <br /> <strong>WHAT'S INVOLVED?</strong><br /> <br /> Adding a &quot;mobilized&quot; capability to your web site is quick, easy and cost effective.&nbsp; Because your mobilized site reflects the layout and content of your traditional web site, it is quicker and less expensive to create.<br /> <br /> <strong>WHAT DOES IT LOOK LIKE?</strong><br /> <br /> See the screen shots below to get an idea how a mobilized site looks versus a traditional site when viewed on a smartphone.<br /> <br /> <strong>HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE?</strong><br /> <br /> Your mobilized site will typically be available in one to two weeks.&nbsp; You then have a 14-day approval period to view and approve your new mobilized site.&nbsp; Once you give your okay, your mobilized site can be brought live in a matter of minutes by adding a few lines of code to the beginning of your current web site. We'll work with your webmaster to do this, or we can do this for a small fee.<br /> <br /> <strong>DOES THIS EFFECT MY TRADITIONAL SITE?</strong><br /> <br /> No.&nbsp; You continue to use the same URL - for both your existing site AND your new mobilized site.&nbsp; We provide smartphone detection logic that automatically directs iPhones, Androids, and other smartphones to your new mobilized site.&nbsp; Traditional PCs and Macs see your existing site just like before.<br /> <br /> <strong>WHAT IF MY CONTENT CHANGES?</strong><br /> <br /> Mobilizing your site streamlines its &quot;look&quot; in order to best suit the small screen of a smart phone.&nbsp; The use of dedicated menu pages and single column display pages makes it much easier to make changes if need be.&nbsp; Typically, a web site is a mix of fairly static content and content that changes more frequently over time.&nbsp; Site navigation menus and display pages such as &quot;About Us&quot; tend to be static.&nbsp; A dynamic page might be a dinner specials menu, a blog, or a list of upcoming events.<br /> <br /> There are basically two ways to deal with the issue of dynamic content update.&nbsp; One is to maintain two versions - one traditional and one mobilized.&nbsp; This is quite satisfactory for occasional updates.&nbsp;&nbsp; The other solution is to use the same page for both traditional and mobilized web viewing.&nbsp; You can use your existing page as is or optimize it to better support mobile visitors.&nbsp;&nbsp; <br /> <br /> <strong>WHO MAINTAINS MY MOBILIZED SITE?</strong><br /> <br /> We will work with your webmaster so he/she can easily maintain and update your mobilized site.&nbsp; Or we can recommend a well qualified webmaster to help you.&nbsp; We are not in the business of web site maintenance, but for a reasonable fee, we will make enhancements.&nbsp; If you are mildly technical, we can teach you and provide easy to use web site tools.<br /> <br /> <strong>HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?</strong><br /> <br /> As little as $100 to develop a simple site.&nbsp; Typical cost is $200-$300.&nbsp;&nbsp; Giving a single number is not possible, since every site is different and some are more complex than others.<br /> <br /> In addition to the development fee, there is a monthly hosting fee of $20.&nbsp; We can work with you or your web master to also migrate your existing site to our host.&nbsp; For most sites, there is only a $5 add-on fee for traditional site hosting.&nbsp; If you are paying more than $25 a month for hosting now, you could be saving money.&nbsp; Call us for details.<br /> <br /> <strong>HOW DO WE GET STARTED?</strong><br /> <br /> Contact us for a no-cost, no-obligation consultation and price quotation.&nbsp; We offer a 10% discount to members of partner organizations such as the GoLocal Cooperative of Sonoma County.&nbsp; Special discounts are available to web designers and webmasters.<br /> <br /> If you just want to see some mobilized sites, e-mail us and we'll send you links and a rough idea what developing similar sites would cost.</p>
