GoLocal Rewards Card

Welcome to the GoLocal Rewards program!  This program is designed to help us reclaim our local economic power and keep more money circulating in the community by incentivizing shopping at locally-owned businesses (click here to learn about the multiplier effect).  All members will receive a free GoLocal Rewards card at sign-up that will be used as a membership card and will eventually be used to earn and redeem rewards at participating businesses.  Member coupons are available from our directory, and rewards will also be available for helping to expand the GoLocal family.  The GoLocal Rewards program is set to launch soon. How it Works

GoLocal Spendable Rebates

The heart of the GoLocal Rewards system is the GoLocal Spendable Rebates program.  This cooperative program engages all members for their mutual benefit by allowing any member to earn Spendable Rebates at any participating business that can be used at any participating business and at GoLocal.  Below is a step-by-step explanation of how it works.

  1. Participating businesses set their rewards rebate percentage that members earn by swiping their card at purchase - e.g. 5% rebate on $100 purchase = $5 GoLocal Spendable Rebate for next purchase.
  2. The Rebate is redeemed for the next purchase at any participating business - e.g. $5 GoLocal Spendable Rebate used on $20 purchase = $5 discount & $15 net cost to member.
  3. Another GoLocal Spendable Rebate is earned on the net amount paid by the member, and the process repeats - e.g. 10% rebate on $15 net cost = $1.50 GoLocal Spendable Rebate for next purchase.
  4. Members can log-in anytime to check their GoLocal Spendable Rebate balance and can browse the directory to see what rewards are being offered by participating businesses.

My Business Rewards

In addition to the cooperative GoLocal Rewards Credit program, businesses will have the option of offering their own business specific loyalty programs that are tracked and redeemed with the same GoLocal Rewards Card.  There are three types of My Business loyalty programs available through the GoLocal Rewards Card.

  1. First Visit Reward:  To attract new customers, businesses can offer a special gift to any member making a purchase and swiping their card for the first time.  The reward can be anything from a discount on the purchase to some kind of special gift.
  2. Dollar Points:  Members work toward a goal by earning one point for every dollar spent - e.g Earn a free mini pizza for every $100 spent.
  3. Visit Points:  Members work toward a goal by earning one point for every purchase, regardless of size - e.g Earn a free cup of coffee after 10 visits.
