About

Chimera Arts, Sonoma County’s First Community Arts and Maker Space, is pleased to announce the launch of Chimera Art’s First Annual Maker Music Festival on Saturday, October 13th.

The event will be a showcase for the DIY music and instrument makers in our community and beyond. There will be exhibits, lectures, demonstrations, hands-on activities and performances that showcase the creativity and ingenuity of our maker community.

This festival will present projects and performances from the traditional to the experimental. There will be hands-on demonstrations and projects for all ages.

“We are creating this annual festival to celebrate the county’s rich history in making, with a special focus on and around music makers. We're a community of makers, artists, engineers and creatives of all types who love to share, learn and work together, and this festival will bring our community together around something that is important to all of us, MUSIC!” said Joe Szuecs, Board President, Chimera Arts.

“Maker Music Festival” will take place at the Chimera Arts facility at 6791 Sebastopol Avenue in downtown Sebastopol, CA.

Currently, Chimera Arts has an “Open Call to Music Makers, Musicians and Performers” who would like to exhibit and the event. All instrument makers are welcome, traditional or experimental. Also sound artists, instrument hackers, performers that play interesting instruments, and individuals that have interesting things to present about this sort of thing. The sign-up is at: http://www.chimeraarts.org/mmf

Please be sure to spread the word, and share information on this exciting new event. All are welcome. More information will be available in the upcoming weeks on Chimera Arts website.
