About

The LIME Foundation seeks to harness each individual’s potential by providing vital skills for the construction trades; in music, the performing arts and technology; and for the health of senior citizens.

Since 2015, we've been committed to empowering underserved and at-risk communities in the North Bay with the skills and opportunities they need to thrive. Our programs spark passion, build confidence, and foster lasting change in the lives of those we serve.

Our Programs

NextGen Trades Academy: The NextGen Trades Academy prepares students who may not have the opportunity to attend college for well-paying work in the construction trades. We not only provide hands-on training but also help graduates find gainful employment through paid apprenticeships, connecting them directly with local contractors. This dual approach not only sets students up for long-term career success but also enlarges the available workforce for the region’s growing construction industry, benefitting both the students and the local economy.

Turner Arts Initiative (TAI): The Turner Arts Initiative brings positive, structured activities to disadvantaged youth, helping prevent or reduce negative influences such as substance abuse, teen pregnancy, truancy, bullying, loneliness, and more. Through this program, participants learn to play musical instruments or study technology, but most importantly, they discover how music and dance can be powerful forms of self-expression. The arts create a safe, creative space for youth to express themselves, build confidence, and gain resilience against challenges.

Senior Activities Program (SAP): The Senior Activities Program provides a vibrant venue for seniors to remain active while building new friendships. SAP promotes healthy eating and exercise through activities like dance, bowling, hiking, and many others. These activities are designed to prevent or even reverse conditions such as heart disease, diabetes, and obesity, ensuring that seniors stay physically and socially engaged while improving their overall health and well-being.

The Impact We Make

Each of our programs is designed not only to teach valuable skills but to ignite a passion for learning, growth, and community. We empower youth to realize their potential and provide seniors with opportunities to stay active and engaged, ensuring our community remains strong and connected across generations.
