About
Santa Rosa, CA. — September 7, 2018 — Gerard Nebesky, the man who bested Bobby Flay in a 2008 “Paella Throwdown” on the Food Network, is proud to announce his Inaugural Paella Festival and Cook-Off on Sunday, October 7th, 2018. Join in on the fun and festivities of Sonoma Vita weekend (including Levi’s GranFondo) and sign your team up to compete Gerard’s Paella Festival and Cook-Off.
We are looking for local teams to compete, show off their paella-making skills, and share their recipes in a friendly live cook-off that will bring great paellas to our community. Gerard and a team of judges will provide their feedback, as will Gerard’s Paella Festival attendees. We invite attendees to taste and vote on the competing teams’ creations which will range from traditional to unique and unconventional. The 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners will receive awards and prize packages as well as public recognition.
To get involved, assemble your team (this is great for wineries, restaurants, businesses and groups or families!) and register by Thursday, September 20th, 2018. All are welcome. Teams will consist of up to 5 members. Gerard’s Paella will provide everything the teams need to deliver an award winning paella, including a tented cooking area, a 52” paella pan and cooking set up (complete with burner, propane and cooking tools) and ingredients. Teams will need to submit their recipes in advance. There is $250 registration fee per team.
