Composer and Lyricist George Forrest
Composer Alexander Borodin

A fanciful and romantic Arabian Night tale, "Kismet" follows the escapades of Hajj, a beggar poet availing his charm and wit as he dangerously elevates to a position of power and influence in ancient Baghdad, threatening his daughter's chances of true love.
Rarely performed, this 1953 Tony award-winning Broadway musical delights with its exotic setting and lush score adapted from the soaring musical themes by composer Alexander Borodin.
"Kismet" songs, including “Baubles, Bangles and Beads,” “Stranger in Paradise” and “And This Is My Beloved,” became popular chart toppers in 1950s.
