What happened after A Christmas Carol? This new musical answers that question. When we last left Ebenezer Scrooge, the grumpy old miser had become a loving, generous, kind human being, with the aid of four ghosts who visited him one Christmas Eve. Exactly one year later, his life takes a turn. Settled in his bed, in nightcap and gown, Scrooge is abruptly aroused by his “ghost-in-chains friend”. “Are you happy?” he asks. Scrooge soon discovers he’s about to be visited, yet again, by the ghosts of past, present, and future—this time not to scare him into generosity—but instead to entice him out of loneliness and into love. But, alas, his love interest’s ornery father tries his utmost to keep the couple apart.
