Sonoma County GO LOCAL’s current leadership is inviting the community to help locate a new team or organization to take on its leadership management for 2025.
“We’re passing the torch for new innovators to take the lead in supporting locally owned businesses, inspiring folks, and uplifting our local economy“, notes Janeen Murray, GO LOCAL Director.
Since its launch in 2010, GO LOCAL has carved a unique space elevating locally owned business and nonprofit members throughout Sonoma County. Its popular trademarked brand, inspired momentum, and unique approach to local economic development has been a driving force in creating a strong “shop local” preference amongst residents amid the dramatic growth of global commerce and online retail of recent decades.
Over the years, GO LOCAL has honed in on imbuing its shared brand with real faces and stories across multimedia platforms, including its Made Local Magazine, Pocket Guide, Holiday Gift Guide, social media, and collaborations with multiple local media providers encompassing radio, outdoor digital advertising, and more.
“GO LOCAL is truly a community effort, with its management serving as a bridge between the businesses and top sponsors who support and grow the mission through their membership, and residents who respond through their patronage of all things local”, notes Janeen.
“It has been a privilege every day to build relationships, and creatively strategize with local business owners through their success and growth, their trials, and everything in between. What are we looking for in new GO LOCAL management? First and foremost, that they have an unrelenting passion for our community and our local economy. Add healthy doses of business development, smart financial & strategic planning, and outside-the-box thinking,” Janeen adds.
Potential new leadership scenarios include taking on GO LOCAL’s membership management, either under the current organizational structure of GO LOCAL Co-op, or under another organizational structure. In addition, the new leadership could continue offering some or all media assets GO LOCAL has built over the years.
